Philip Pocock Secondary School (Mississauga)

Open calibre Women’s 6 $240 of pledges per team/cheques payable to Canadian Women’s Foundation. All team pledges go to Canadian Women’s Foundation. Since 1991 Canadian Women’s Foundation has funded more than 500 violence prevention projects throughout Canada. Charitable receipt issued by CWF for pledges. Contact Karin for special forms.

Aimee’s untimely death as a victim of domestic violence has robbed her family of a daughter, a sister, an aunt; her friends of her friendship; her teammates of her enthusiasm and the volleyball community of a dedicated coach, player and organizer. Her dedication and passion to her sport has prompted us to organize this charity tournament in her memory and to donate all proceeds to the Canadian Women’s Foundation.

Last tournament, we raised $5,400 for Aimee’s Memorial Fund. www.canadianwomen.org

Contact for Information about the tournament or if you wish to donate a prize Karin Serre 416 699-3617 or kserre@sdcinc.ca OR Raquel Heayn 905 846 2246 or rheayn@rogers.com Aimee’s Memorial Fund has funded the following program in 2006. CENTRAL NEIGHBOURHOOD HOUSE, Toronto $20,000

The goal of this project is to support an emerging organization:
DWAVE: Deaf Women Against Violence Everywhere.
A digital storytelling program will allow the women to learn technological skills and explore their personal and community experiences with violence. There will be up to eight deaf young women involved in the program. DWAVE will lead a workshop on violence against deaf young women and girls for another twenty participants using the stories as a teaching tool. This program began in December 2005, and is expected to run until May 2007.
